SSAFE's Vision To integrate food safety, animal health and plant health across food supply chains in order to improve public health and wellbeing. SSAFE is a public private partnership incorporated in 2006.
The idea for SSAFE was born in 2004 from the need to effectively address the worldwide threat of Avian Influenza.
SSAFE has expanded its scope to include not only animal health but wildlife, agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and beverages. All types of food (human and animal) and beverage products, including water are addressed.
