SSAFE global dairy farming food safety training framework

Project Objectives

To support the development of dairy markets in low and medium income countries, which is vital to help facilitate access to sufficient, safe and nutritious milk, SSAFE developed an open-source food safety training framework to support the development of dairy farming.

The SSAFE Global Dairy Farming Food Safety Training Framework assists dairy farmers meet basic food safety principles. The aim is to help dairy farmers in their day-to-day activities deliver safe milk of good quality to customers and consumers.

The number of food safety issues occurring in agricultural production at the farm level is on the rise. These issues include such problems as cross-contamination (allergens and other contaminants) due to bad growing and harvesting practices, undeclared ingredients, illegal dyes, incorrect pesticide use, improper use of chemicals, and others.
