Food safety culture tool
The journey to world-class food safety practices starts with building a strong food safety culture within a food business. SSAFE partnered with TSI to develop a free tool, available in 55 languages, to help food businesses identify strengths and weaknesses in the “People”component of their food safety culture.

Food safety training for food manufacturers in China
SSAFE, in partnership with the Shanghai Jiao Tong University – Bor S. Luh Food Safety Research Center, developed and delivered a five-year capability development program on HACCP and GFSI Global Markets Program, with all training materials available in Chinese.

Guidance document for good food safety practices to reduce (cross)contamination on farms
To address issues such as cross-contamination (allergens and other contaminants) due to bad growing and harvesting practices, undeclared ingredients, illegal dyes, incorrect pesticide use, improper use of chemicals, etc. SSAFE developed a free practical guide to provide farmers around the world with 47 useful and effective measures, based on scientific global best practices, to help reduce or eliminate on-farm (cross)contamination.

ISO 22002-5 for storage & transport
To help storage and transportation companies meet ISO 22000, SSAFE worked with ISO to develop a set of requirements that specify establishing, implementing and maintaining PRPs for transport and storage in the food chain to assist in controlling food safety hazards.

Industry 4.0 and food safety guide
This guide, developed by SSAFE with input from key partners, demonstrates how Industry 4.0 technologies can be implemented across the food supply chain, what some of the potential benefits and risks are, and how individual companies and the food industry at large can maximize the potential of emerging technologies in the coming years.

PAS 222 – prerequisite program for animal feed
SSAFE contracted the British Standards Institution (BSI) to develop an ISO-based technical specification that addresses the protection of the health of animals and ensure the safety of meat, milk and eggs from such food producing animals. This document subsequently was used as a seed document to form part of the ISO 22002 PRP series.

PAS 223 – prerequisite program for food packaging
SSAFE contracted the British Standards Institution (BSI) to develop an ISO-based technical specificationto to assist packaging manufacturers in controlling food safety hazards. The specification was subsequently submitted to ISO as one of the seed documents of ISO/TS 22002-4:2013 – PRPs on food safety — Part 4: Food packaging manufacturing, published in 2013.

SSAFE Lecture Series in Food Crime Prevention
SSAFE has collaborated with five leading experts in Food Crime Prevention to develop a lecture series on Food Fraud, Food Defense and Food Integrity. Through a series of short videos, each of the experts take you on a journey to help you better understand what food crime is and what you can do to help protect your business and yourself.

Technical specification for animal welfare
SSAFE supported the development of an ISO technical specification for implementing the WOAH standards and create a globally accepted protocol to implement WOAH animal welfare standards at the production level in a manner that respects production differences while achieving the same welfare outcome.
